Maren Müller Photography - an Overview

From calm and tranquil to wild and untamed, water has many faces.

This photo gallery presents a selection of images showing water in various forms, colours and moods. From calm lakes to moving ocean waves and fine detailed structures, the images illustrate the diversity of this element.

Rather than presenting individual photos, I would like to present images that are related to each other. These can be photo series or sequences.

The focus is not on individual photos, but on several images on a common theme.

This gallery displays photographs that have been deliberately desaturated to focus on lighting, contrast and composition. Restricting the palette to black, white and grey tones creates clear image structures that emphasise details and shapes particularly well. The variety of motifs on display illustrates the creative potential of this traditional photographic technique.

Just as the Impressionists did in painting, I focus on nature and life in our time. I experiment with light, camera movements, multiple exposures and post-production techniques to give my photographs the appearance of Impressionist paintings.

Through my work, I aim to blur the boundaries between photography and painting.

Abstract Photography breaks away from recognisable motifs. It uses structures, colours, shapes and contrasts created through extreme cropping, macro photography, blurring and digital post-processing. The result is images that represent visual experiments and open up new perspectives, rather than documenting reality.

I am fascinated by the diversity of life that unfolds on the streets of our cities. In street photography, I look for special moments, interesting perspectives and scenes that are often gone in the blink of an eye.

It doesn’t matter to me whether people appear directly in the frame or whether only traces of their presence are visible. What matters is the story that the moment tells.

I am fascinated by the possibility of using a camera to immerse myself in a world that often remains hidden from the naked eye. Through macro photography, I discover shapes, colours and textures that are hardly noticed in everyday life.

Here, I aim to capture the beauty of the small details and draw attention to the wonders that lie right on our doorstep.

What fascinates me about architecture is the combination of design, function and atmosphere. Through my camera lens, I seek out striking lines, clean forms and distinctive lighting effects.

My aim is to bring out the uniqueness of architecture and to offer new perspectives on familiar places.

For me, astrophotography combines a connection with nature, technology and the fascination of the unknown. On clear nights, I’m drawn to dark places, far away from artificial light sources, to capture the beauty of the night sky.

Through my photographs, I want to share the magic of the night sky and show just how awe-inspiring our universe is.
